• Ned can bring dead things back to life by touching them
• However if he ever touches them again, they are dead for good
• Also, someone else nearby will die if the 'touched' person is allowed to live for more than 1 minute
  
• Ned is a pie-maker who sometimes helps a detective, Emerson, solve homicide case by temporarily reviving murder victims
• Ned is called upon to solve the murder of his childhood sweetheart, Chuck
• When Ned was a boy, he 'killed' Chuck's father by bringing his mother back to life (he accidentally 're-killed' his mother hours after reviving her)
• Ned keeps her alive for more than 1 minute when he can't bring himself to kiss her; the funeral director dies and Chuck is alive again
  
• Chuck doesn't know who killed her and wants help solve the case
• She was killed on a cruise while smuggling gold monkeys; One of her aunts kills the murder after he breaks into their house
